Sad Day for FSNS

We have some sad news for FSNS members and supporters today- our Chief Pilot, Jim Legere, has passed away suddenly. Along with our host institution, the Shearwater Aviation Museum, we’d like to offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.  Jim was an active volunteer in the community, known for his friendly nature, and will be deeply missed by so many people.

We’re not sure what this means for the club yet- Jim really stirred up a flurry of activity and interest in flight simulation when he took on the club and the museum would like to continue supporting the club.  FSNS has been taking a break for the summer, and meetings will resume in the fall.

I’d like to close out this sad post with a happy picture, with Chief Pilot “Tall Jim” (foreground) and his good friend “Short Jim” doing flight simulator demos at CFB Halifax Family Days earlier this summer, helping a young pilot learn how to fly.
